As most of you know we are hosting our KeyHealth Senior Open tournament at Ellis Park from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th November (this weekend) BUT WE WILL BE HAVING SQUAD AS USUAL. The reason we are able to have squad and the tournament at the same time is because we have enough courts to do so.
I have also had enquiries regarding the changing of the age groups after having had a birthday. The squad does not work like the tournaments by changing the age groups during the year, so if you played in the Under 14 age group at the beginning of the year, unless the coaches have specifically told you to come to another age group you remain as you were.
I have organised a match against Gauteng North on Saturday 20th November with the U12 and U14 age groups going to Groenkloof and the U16 and U18 age groups playing at Ellis Park. The coaches will be selecting 4 boys and 4 girls in each age group and the teams will be announced at squad on Saturday 13th November. This match will be the last mini interpro played this year and will ensure strong tennis is played at all levels.
I will inform you of our ‘last’ squad as soon as I have confirmed with the coaches and maybe we need a braai and salad morning to end the year!
