Gaynor takes next squad

I want to thank all of you who played the match against Gauteng East last Saturday.  Although I was at Ellis Park, Les van Eck said that you all played very well, were very well behaved and had a fun morning in Benoni.  The under 12’s won easily and the U14’s played some great matches but lost 10 matches to 6.  Thank you Les for all your help.

Gauteng Central were the overall winners for the U16’s and U18’s with some exciting matches and very good tennis being played.  What a pleasure it was to watch.  Well done to all of you.  My thanks now to the parents for the fetching a carrying and especially to the parents of the U16’s and U18’s for the wonderful display of eats you produced and plenty of cool drinks available for our visitors.

We are back to normal this Saturday for those of you who are in Johannesburg and not away playing the various tournaments.  This Saturday we were to have Gaynor Harris taking squad but she has changed Saturdays with Rene Plant who we look forward to welcoming to Ellis Park on Saturday.  Most of you know Rene but for those who don’t, Rene (nee Uys) was a great player both as a junior (Free State) and senior player in South Africa and now is one of the top coaches in the country, so don’t miss this opportunity to work with her.  Gaynor will be with us next Saturday 3 September.

Hope it warms up for Saturday!
