As expected Marks Park men beat Fairlands to ensure that they retained the Dunlop Bundes league title by a healthy 30 points. This despite losing two of the doubles matches, but with victory in five of the six singles, the title was already won.
Bryanston claimed second spot after thrashing Old Eds, dropping just one match to finish ahead of Fairlands by 15 points at the end of the day.
Northern Suburbs managed to avoid relegation by beating Morningside CC 16-9, and in so doing consigned Morningside to playing in a lower league next season.
Andy Anderson, playing at number 1 for Bryanston CC won all his five matches, and mention must also be made of Clive Wilson who, playing at number 2 for Northern Suburbs, lost just one match and that 7-10 in the final set tie break. These two seasoned players were able to put many of our younger players firmly in their place.
In the ladies, Marks Park ensured they finished as runners up to Bryanston SC by beating Fairlands 14-4, and ensuring that Fairlands end the season with the wooden spoon.
