At a ceremony at the Southern African Regional Coaches Conference, Tennis South Africa President, Gavin Crookes, received the ITF Silver Status Recognition Certificate for Tennis South Africa coach education from Miguel Crespo, ITF Coaching and Participation Manager.
This achievement reflects the hard work from Tennis South Africa in continually working to improve the quality of tennis coaching competencies and is well deserved considering that South Africa is the first country in Africa to be recognized as part of the programme.
The award means that the Tennis South Africa coach education system meets a number of criteria including; approved ITF syllabi for coaching courses, production of comprehensive coaching resources, appropriately qualified expert tutors in place to deliver courses in addition to annual tutor training organized by the national association and more.
The ITF would like to congratulate Tennis South Africa on this achievement and hopes that they will serve as an example for another national associations in the region to aspire to.
