More details about Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal’s 2020 Cape Town showdown have emerged.

The news that the two of them are heading to Cape Town recently spread like wildfire on social media ever since Federer confirmed the news during an exclusive interview with Vogue.

During the interview, Federer said thathe and Nadal are planning on breaking the attendance record in Cape Town in 2020.

“He’s an intense guy on the court,” he said of Nadal in the interview. “He’s super honest and open off the court. And he’s got a heart of gold.

“He’s also going to help me with my foundation again next year. We’re going to try to break the record for most attendance, in Cape Town, South Africa for my foundation. I’m so looking forward to it so thank you Rafa.”

New reports suggest Federer will play Nadal on 7 February 2020 at 20:00 in Cape Town for the benefit of children as part of Federer’s Match for Africa series.

Tickets will go on sale in early September as the two tennis icons attempt to set a world record for most attendees at a tennis match.

According to ATP Tour, the Cape Town Stadium, which has a capacity of more than 50,000 spectators, will also host a celebrity/pro doubles match between Federer and Bill Gates, best known as the founder of the Microsoft Corporation, versus Nadal and South African comedian Trevor Noah.
