Tickets for South Africa’s crucial Euro/Africa Group II Davis Cup tie against Bulgaria, to be played from 13 to 14 September 2019 at Kelvin Grove Club in Cape Town, are now on sale from Webtickets.
South Africa suffered relegation to group II in October 2018 after losing to Portugal in Lisbon, making the Bulgaria match-up vital – with victory guaranteeing South Africa immediate promotion back to Group I.
“It’s a momentous moment for the team, being comprised of mainly Capetonians. Everyone is incredibly excited to be playing in front of their friends and family and bringing international world class tennis back to the region. It won’t be an easy tie, especially with the possibility of Grigor Dimitrov playing. But that should make it a spectacular event,” said Marcos Ondruska, KIA SA Team Captain.
Kelvin Grove is one of the leading tennis facilities in the country and will see the tie played on a hard court with seats available for 1000 spectators.
The venue is also set to host a prestigious ITF Junior Grade A event in the week following the Davis Cup tie along with an ITF Beach Tennis Tournament being played alongside the Davis Cup tie – creating a week-long tennis festival in Newlands.
South Africa and Bulgaria are expected to name their teams in early September with exciting up-and-coming prospect, Lloyd Harris and doubles specialist Raven Klaasen expected to form part of the South African line-up.
Order of Play for the tie:
Friday, 13 September 2019: 2 Singles matches, commencing at 11:00 with opening ceremony at 10:50
Saturday, 14 September 2019: Doubles match, followed by 2 Reverse Singles Matches, commencing at 09:00
Tickets for the tie are R150 per person per day, per session and are available now through Webtickets
