Congratulations to Bryanston Sports Club – Rene Plant, Rosanne Duke, Tony Snyder and Oliver van Gorkom who won the Gauteng Central Leg of the Growthpoint Top Guns – National Club Championships – edging the defending national champions, Marks Park, 2-1 in the final.
The final went down to the wire – being decided by a third set in the mixed doubles decider – but Bryanston held their nerve to advance to the national final.
The Growthpoint Properties’ sponsored tournament features both men and women in a doubles team competition with over R200 000.00 in prize money up for grabs. Each team comprises of two men and two women who play men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles.
The event is played in 14 tennis regions across South Africa, with each region hosting a local event to crown both A Division and B Division regional champions. Each of the A Division regional champions will then qualify for the national final – to be played at a central venue to be announced early next year.
