Tennis South Africa (TSA) has on Monday announced a suspension of tennis tournaments in Gauteng with immediate effect until Monday, 12 July 2021, due to rising coronavirus infections in the province.
South Africa is now into the third wave of the coronavirus, with Gauteng province the most affected, with the most active cases in the country.
Following the State President’s announcement last week Tuesday and based on discussions with key stakeholders, TSA has taken the precautionary measure to postpone all sanctioned tournaments in Gauteng for three weeks.
This will be reviewed on a weekly basis, but no tournaments will take place until Monday, 12 July 2021.
PLEASE NOTE: Club tennis and league tennis can continue – as long as strict COVID-19 protocols are followed.
